“Art is art. Everything else is everything else.” Ad Reinhardt hammered this out across his “Art-as-Art” writings in the early 1960s, the same years he was painting his black canvases — near-identical squares divided so faintly you have to stand and wait for the image to surface. He wanted art walled off from message, decoration, and use, reduced to the one thing only it can be: a purely visual experience that answers to nothing outside itself.

Oversized, boxy relaxed fit, dropped shoulders, wide twin-stitched ribbed neck, side-seamed, pre-shrunk (size down for a less roomy look). Care: machine wash cold inside-out with like colors, do NOT bleach, do NOT tumble dry (line dry in the shade to protect the garment dye), cool iron inside-out (never iron the print).
