“A couturier must be an architect for design, a sculptor for shape, a painter for color, a musician for harmony, and a philosopher for temperance.” Cristóbal Balenciaga, who gave essentially one press interview in his life, left this as his credo, kept by museums from the V&A to the Balenciaga Museoa in his birthplace of Getaria. He named five disciplines a couturier must hold at once — architect, sculptor, painter, musician, philosopher. Mastery of anything real, he suggests, is rarely one skill; it is many kept in balance, with temperance the rarest and last.
**AS Colour 5082 “Faded Bone” — Oversized Tee (Cream finish).** 100% carded cotton, heavyweight 240 gsm, garment-dyed — each tee fades a little differently, so no two are identical. Oversized, boxy relaxed fit, dropped shoulders, wide twin-stitched ribbed neck, side-seamed, pre-shrunk (size down for a less roomy look). Care: machine wash cold inside-out with like colors, do NOT bleach, do NOT tumble dry (line dry in the shade to protect the garment dye), cool iron inside-out (never iron the print).
