Reading the Ecology of the Field

Reading the Ecology of the Field is the MME’s background research series — the work conducted before institutional decisions were made. Reports examine the conditions the museum is being built into: funding landscapes, activist posture, peer institution intelligence, civic ecology, membership economics, sector pressures. Not all research in this series is intended for external audiences. What is published here has field-wide relevance beyond MME’s specific situation — and in some cases forms the research foundation for future applied methodology in The Practice.
