My favorite element in this altar is an antique jar of farm medicine labeled “Pik’r.” It claims to be a “distasteful blood-like preparation to aid in discouraging cannibalism in poultry.” Other elements include a postcard of a man menacing a fighting cock, and a preserved chicken foot.
