reliquary was a study for a series in which I intended to cast various objects into large slabs of wax to be suspended from chains as space dividers, or screens. The charred board that makes up the back panel was salvaged from a church on Cross St. in Ypsilanti, MI which burned to the ground one Easter Morning. The top arch is part of a salvaged window frame. The squares at left are children’s blocks, the form at right, a wooden container for a tap and die set. Bones and a steel circle are cast in industrial wax within.
