This figure is based on Fon Bochio sculptures. An emphasis on knotting and tying is characteristic of Bochio sculptures and suggests strength. Force and resistance are also characteristic. The figure was carved in a friends back yard while traveling… the knife attached to the figure is a prison shiv purchased in the French Market in New Orleans later on the same trip.
