This figure is based on Fon Bochio sculptures. The body is a deer vertebra. The nails and the mirror over the cavity in front reference minkisi sculptures. The head is the destroyed handle of a chisel I used to carve a mask in hard burl wood. The fossilized snail embedded in the back of this figure was found in the gravel pit behind the school I went to when I was in third grade.
