29 Jul Spice Up Your Garden With A Bottle Fence

It’s a nice way to add some color to a yard or garden.I’d like to do another version of this fence with a heavier line weight and with the bottles placed in separate frames that are juxtaposed at various heights…. Here’s a pretty quick sketch of what I’m thinking about… it’s not perfect (drawings rarely are for me, since I prefer to work out the visuals with the actual material).Using thicker steel pipe might work better by allowing me to snug the neck of the bottles into the tube, rather than mounting them over steel rods as I did in the photo. The overall look I’d like to get with the final version would be similar to the first major fence project I did, which incorporated a bunch of radiator sections from the building site…. I think the bottle fence would work better as a low garden style fence… maybe three feet at the highest point. While I was making the Bottle Tree, another idea came to me… what about using bottles in a fence design? I arranged them at different heights to play with the idea of musical notation. The Scrap Fence above is pretty tall (almost seven feet at it’s highest points). I think the bottle fence would work better as a low garden style fence… maybe three feet at the highest point. There are more detail pics of this fence in my portfolio if you’d like to check them out.
